Start a conversationElizabeth Clippard Scaglione built her practice on a simple idea: clients don't need more memos — they need deals done. She spent a decade advising public and private companies before founding Scaglione Counsel, and she's seen the work from every seat at the table: law firm, in-house team, and the business side in between.
She spent over seven years in-house at a ~$10B insurance and tech-support company, rising to Senior Director and Assistant General Counsel. There she led the revenue contracts with the company's largest client, oversaw its global insurance and reinsurance agreements, and drove major corporate transactions — acquisitions, divestitures, company tender offers, and debt and equity recapitalizations. Most recently, she served as Senior Director, Legal Counsel at a fast-growing renewable energy developer, where she led the commercial agreements behind utility-scale solar development, supported construction financing, tax equity, and parent-level debt transactions, managed acquisitions of development-stage projects, and oversaw the organization of more than 100 subsidiary, operational, and financing entities. She began her career in the business services group of a premier full-service law firm, working on public and private M&A, securities offerings, and corporate governance.
Elizabeth earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she was Research Editor of the Tennessee Law Review, and her B.B.A., cum laude, from the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College at the University of Mississippi. She practices in Nashville, Tennessee.
